The Hoosic Valley Central School District Board of Education is looking for two (2) qualified candidates to fill part-time Food Service Helper positions. This role involves working approximately 5 hours per day for 10 months, starting immediately. The position may require working in both cafeterias, depending on the needs of the district.

Duties may include:

• Clean tables in the cafeteria;
• Sweep kitchen area at the end of the day;
• Sanitizing the serving line and counters as needed and when closing at the end of the day;
• Cleans, washes, and otherwise prepares vegetables and fruit for meal times;
• Assists in the preparation of salads.
• Helps Cooks during serving time and in any phase of their duties or any other duties as assigned
• Washes dishes, pots, and pans by hand or machine;
• Sweep and mop the cafeteria during lunch times for the safety of the students
• May act as a monitor in the cafeteria during meal times
• May act as a Cashier

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of proper methods of sanitation and cleaning procedures, food service, and the care of kitchen appliances;
• Ability to follow oral and written directions;
• Good physical condition;
• Experience in a school, restaurant, or hotel dining room is desirable.
