We are excited to feature Erin McCauliffe, Jr./Sr. High art teacher at Hoosic Valley who values the deep connections she builds with her students. One of the most rewarding aspects of Erin’s role is when former students return to visit after attending college or starting their careers. “We chat about high school, art field trips, college, and life,” she shared. These visits are a reminder of the lasting impact she has on her students.Erin believes that making meaningful connections and pushing her students to do their best is essential. “When students understand the importance of perseverance and know there is always room for improvement, I hope they strive intrinsically to become the best person they can be,” she explained. Erin’s dedication to her students’ growth goes beyond the classroom, as she encourages them to push their creative boundaries and apply these lessons to their lives.
She appreciates every student who takes an art class and those who return for annual art shows or stop by to share their successes. “It may not seem like much to show your support, but it really does matter,” Erin said, highlighting the significance of these continued connections.
