We are excited to feature Kristen Przybylo, a dedicated educator at Hoosic Valley who values the generosity and support of the school district. Kristen appreciates how everyone at Hoosic Valley is willing to lend a hand, both inside and outside of school, creating a warm and supportive environment for all.A particularly meaningful moment for Kristen was when she was asked to become the advisor for the Newspaper Club during her first few years of teaching. “I had only been teaching for a year and a half and did not think that I had made a large impact on students just yet,” she shared. Being chosen for this role was a gratifying experience, as it showed her the impact she was already making. Reinstating the club was not only a joy for the students but also for the community, which looks forward to the school newspaper.
This experience has reinforced Kristen’s belief in the importance of small, everyday interactions, like saying good morning to students or giving them an outlet to work together on something fun and meaningful. It has shown her that every action, no matter how small, can positively impact students and the community.
Kristen credits her colleagues Marci Pieras, Holly Martin, and Erin English for their invaluable support. “Without the help of these amazing teachers, I wouldn’t be the teacher I am today,” she said. She looks forward to continuing to learn from them and her students throughout her career.
Her message is powerful: “You are always going to be something to someone—whether a friend, colleague, someone to look up to, or a complete stranger. Be the best version of yourself every day.”
