We are excited to feature Brady Talbot, a teacher at Hoosic Valley who brings joy and enthusiasm to his role every day. Recently, Brady celebrated two major life milestones—he got married and bought a house with his wife. At Hoosic Valley, Brady finds every day to be a positive experience, thanks to the wonderful students and faculty who make his job feel effortless and rewarding.
One particularly meaningful moment for Brady occurred when he ran into a former student who thanked him for making his business math class relevant and meaningful. The student, now a young adult with financial responsibilities, expressed surprise at how applicable the lessons were to his real life. “This experience confirms that the connections we make with students and the rich and relevant lessons we teach really do make an impact on our community and society,” Brady reflected.
Brady credits his success as an educator to the mentorship of Mary Suite, Val Guilianelle, and his parents, both retired math teachers, who provided him with guidance and support as he began his teaching career eight years ago.
Brady’s message to others is powerful: “Find your passion and pursue it by setting short-term and long-term goals. Be persistent, be disciplined, but most importantly, be yourself.”
