We are excited to introduce Corissa Howland, who recently achieved a major milestone by receiving her Teacher Assistant certification over the summer! Corissa is dedicated to making a positive impact on the students at Hoosic Valley, and her role as a mentor last year was particularly meaningful to her.
Reflecting on this experience, Corissa shared how being asked to mentor a student opened her eyes to the significance of her position. “It made me appreciate my job so much more and made me realize just how much of a positive impact someone in my position can have on some of the students,” she said.
Corissa is grateful for the support she has received from her fellow aides and staff members, who have played a key role in her growth both professionally and personally. “I am forever grateful for them,” she added.
The lesson Corissa hopes to share is that “when you least expect it and you think you are just ‘doing your job,’ you may be leaving a positive impact on someone.” Her dedication to her students and her commitment to making a difference are what make her such an integral part of the Hoosic Valley community.
