Mackenzie Houle is a vital part of the Hoosic Valley community, serving as our dedicated Elementary Secretary! Mackenzie brings a positive energy and a deep commitment to making sure things run smoothly and that our students are supported in every way possible.Mackenzie has been focused on ensuring students get home safely and to the right destination each day. She recognizes how last-minute bus changes or pick-ups can disrupt students’ routines, and she takes pride in keeping operations smooth while supporting staff, students, and parents. “Being a school secretary is vital to things running efficiently, and I am proud to be a part of this daily,” Mackenzie shares.
When reflecting on a particularly meaningful aspect of her role, Mackenzie points to the everyday connections she makes with students and staff. “Every day is meaningful. The students and staff are my drive to come to work daily. They make my job fun and exciting, and I love that no day is the same,” she says.
Her experience has taught her valuable lessons about kindness, empathy, and the importance of creating a welcoming environment and a sense of community at Hoosic Valley Elementary School. Mackenzie is proud to be part of a team that works together to foster these values.
Speaking of teams, Mackenzie credits Cori Kinnicutt as her “peanut butter to my jelly,” emphasizing how crucial their partnership is to her work. “Doing this job wouldn’t be complete without her. We are the best team, and I wouldn’t change a thing,” Mackenzie remarks.
Through her story, Mackenzie hopes to inspire others to make a difference. “Making an impact with just a small action such as a smile or a hug—you never know how much someone may need that.”
